What We Know
Breitling has partnered with star Manchester City striker Erling Haaland to create the Erling Haaland Signature Chronomat, a limited-edition collection featuring meteorite dials that make each timepiece completely unique. The collaboration includes three public models—the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 in stainless steel and platinum and the Chronomat B01 42 in red gold—plus an ultra-exclusive 5-piece edition reserved for Haaland's inner circle. Each watch comes in a wooden box with a signed thank-you note from the football (soccer) star.
The collection showcases stunning meteorite dials cut from an iron meteorite discovered in Sweden, revealing the natural Widmanstätten pattern formed during millions of years of slow cooling in space. The GMT 40 features a stainless steel case with a platinum bezel, while the B01 42 boasts an 18k red gold case with black chronograph subdials. Both models feature Haaland's initials on the central seconds hand and his signature goal celebration pose engraved on the caseback, available with either metal bracelets or rubber straps.

The Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 houses a reliable Breitling Caliber 32 with a GMT function, while the more premium B01 42 is powered by Breitling's in-house Manufacture Caliber 01. The B01 movement offers an impressive 70-hour power reserve and is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. Both movements are COSC-certified chronometers, ensuring precision and reliability that match Haaland's clinical finishing on the pitch.

The Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 Erling Haaland is limited to 500 pieces and available from $10,000 on a rubber strap or $10,350 on a bracelet, while the Chronomat B01 42 Erling Haaland is limited to 250 pieces and starts at $26,600 on a rubber strap or $47,100 on a bracelet.
What We Think
Now I must disclose that I'm a Manchester City supporter, and as such, it was predestined for me, as a Blue, to review this watch. However, allegiances aside, I found myself really liking it. We were only able to see the 40mm steel model and the 42mm gold version, and for me, the 40mm really stood out. What's particularly notable is how Breitling has paired an exotic meteorite dial—typically reserved for precious metals—with a stainless steel case, making this premium cosmic material more accessible while maintaining the watch's exclusivity. Putting aside my small wrist size, the 40mm proportions felt just right, especially with the rouleaux bracelet.
That said, I'm more of a fan of subtle details as opposed to the overt—I love that Erling's signature celebration is on the caseback, but I feel the "EH" initials on the seconds hand feels a little too on the nose for me. However, I can understand the appeal for Haaland's biggest supporters. Whether or not you'll become a world-class striker if you get this watch remains to be seen, but for those avid Erling Haaland fans, I could think of no better way to get excited for the Premier League season.
Objectively, I believe this partnership makes a great deal of sense. It's a smart move for Breitling to take their collaboration with the world's best striker to the next level with this collection. Everyone knows soccer's worldwide popularity, but it's finally starting to gain traction in the United States. For Breitling to align itself with one of soccer's most talented and marketable players is a wise decision. I believe this collection is a strong way to continue the collaboration, especially given the unique meteorite dial material. With the World Cup approaching in the United States next year, and Norway, led by Haaland, looking likely to qualify for the first time since 1998, I suspect this won't be the last Haaland collection we see from Breitling.
