Thanks to a certain Netflix show, Kate Bush's 1985 banger "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)" is back on the charts and on the playlists of a whole new generation.
And while "Running Up That Hill" is a terrific intro into the wild world of Kate Bush (CBE), we are a watch website – so we would like to draw your attention to the 1978 Seiko-commercial version of "Them Heavy People." In a Japanese advertisement that somehow actually got made, Bush does what Bush does best (dances ethereally, rides a motorcycle ethereally) while singing a snippet of the single from her album The Kick Inside.
Along with this commercial, brought to my coworker Lisa's attention via a dog on Instagram, Bush appeared in a variety of print ads for the brand. Vintage watch ads are always pretty fun, but toss in a reclusive chanteuse with a three-octave range and you've got yourself something special.
