Introducing The SpaceOne WorldTimer – An Extra-Terrestrial Watch For Time Zones On Terra Firma

SpaceOne continues to innovate while keeping prices affordable with a wild new world timer.

What We Know

SpaceOne is the ultimate multi-hyphenate brand for 2025. The hyper-futuristic-yet-affordable avant-garde (brand led by entrepreneur Guillaume Laidet, with design by Olivier Gamiette and watchmaking chops from young indie phenom Theo Auffret) returns with its third model, the new SpaceOne WorldTimer.

We previously covered the brand's Tellurium and original Jumping Hour on the site, and I'm a fan. Yes, some of the designs draw inspiration from elements like the De Bethune Dream Watch 5 (in the case of the Jumping Hour), and the blued hues of the case are often another De Bethune signature. However, the horological prowess demonstrated in crafting the modules for these watches at an affordable price is something that can't be ignored.

SpaceOne WorldTimer

The SpaceOne WorldTimer pushes the bounds of design with three different displays in one case. At 3 o'clock, there is a minute and second display. At 6 o'clock, there's an independent hour display. Finally, at 9 o'clock, a large circle displays world time, allowing you to sync your current time zone with the dial and track every other time zone in the world (excluding those with quarter- or half-hour intervals). This is all managed using a three-position crown. The first position allows for manual winding, the second (engineered as part of the module developed by Theo Auffret) enables quick setting of the city disc, and the third simultaneously sets both the 12-hour and 24-hour discs.

The entire watch is based on a Soprod P024 movement with that Auffret-designed (and Paris-assembled) WorldTimer complication. The watch has a 38-hour power reserve, but it features an automatic movement. The movement and display are cased in Grade 5 titanium with polished, brushed, and sandblasted surfaces, featuring silver, blued treatment, or black coating. The case measures 41.9 mm lug to lug, but 52.7mm across the longest sides, and comes in at 15.88mm thick.

The SpaceOne WorldTimer will be available for preorder starting June 26 at 4:00 p.m. French time, for €2,700 (excluding taxes), exclusively via the official SpaceOne website. The first batch of 600 pieces is expected to be delivered by the end of 2025.

What We Think

To keep it short, I think these are pretty cool. I've liked all the releases from SpaceOne and, frankly, if money were no object, I'd probably have a few different variations of each. The team at SpaceOne has told me that they're planning on looking forward and continuing to put out new designs, so I'd suggest not sleeping on it – like I did (left to hope for the specific variation you missed to return on the secondary market). Here, I'd pick the black or blue, simply due to the bold look of either.

A lume shot on the WorldTimer

Yes, the watch's size will probably throw up red flags for some. I've seen the watch in person and thought it fit me well. I could go on and on with tropes about how it "wears smaller than its dimensions," and all those obnoxious phrases we watch writers haven't found a way to live without. It's true, sure, and almost logical in a way.

You've a long, flat area on your wrist that doesn't bend, and with the 22mm (tapering to 18mm) strap placed more toward the right-hand side of the watch, the elongated worldtime display sits nicely on that flat area of your wrist. While 15.8mm doesn't fit smoothly under dress shirt cuffs, it does tuck away under a sweatshirt, and that balance allows the more often-used hours and minutes to peek out.
